Three lenses

Every brand is assessed through the same three lenses we build commercial growth around. Across them we score 11+ dimensions, chosen for your specific sector and audience — from positioning and messaging to community, trust, and commerce.

SHIFT
How clearly and distinctively your brand is positioned and perceived.
Insight · Strategy · Positioning · Identity
ENGAGE
How well you build and hold an audience through content and channels.
Campaign · Content · Social · Paid
CONVERT
How effectively that attention becomes revenue and repeat custom.
Commerce · Retention · Shoppable Content

Where the picture comes from

The score blends three kinds of evidence, so it reflects how your brand actually shows up — not just how it feels from the inside.

1
Your perspective
A structured self-assessment and the conversation in the session — what you know about your brand, your customers, and your goals.
2
Live external signals
Pulled in real time: your website performance, your Google reviews, search-interest trends, recent news, and your social and advertising presence.
3
Broad market knowledge
The AI's trained understanding of your category, your competitors, and what good looks like in your sector.
Evidence beats opinion
Where the inputs disagree, real-world measured evidence always outweighs opinion. The result reflects how your brand performs — not just how it feels from the inside.

What the score means

Every brand is scored out of 100. The scale is calibrated to be honest — 50 is average, not good — so a strong score has to be earned with evidence.

80–100
Leading
A genuine, sustainable commercial asset.
60–79
Established
Solid foundations with clear, addressable gaps.
40–59
Developing
Some effective elements, but no clear commercial through-line.
20–39
Fragile
Not yet working commercially; needs structural attention.
0–19
At Risk
Urgent intervention required across multiple areas.

Built to be honest

Calibrated, not flattering. 50 means average, not good. A high score has to be earned with evidence.
Sector-aware. You're benchmarked against your own category, like for like — not against brands that play a different game.
Evidence-led. Scores reference real data and your customers' actual signals, not guesswork.
Honest about its limits. Where live data is thin, it says so rather than over-claiming.
Powered responsibly. Scored by a leading AI model (Anthropic's Claude), with guardrails that keep every result consistent and reliable.

How to read your results

Start with the band and the focus pillar — that's where the biggest commercial risk and opportunity sit. The ‘Start here’ roadmap tells you what to do first, and why it can't wait.

Recommendations describe the work that's needed — the type of programme, not a hand-over of the strategy. That's deliberate: the diagnosis is yours to keep; the build is where we come in.

The point of it
PulseChecker isn't a replacement for deep brand strategy — it's the sharp, honest starting point that focuses it. In one session you get an evidence-based view of where your brand stands and where to invest next, so the conversation moves straight to what matters.
